99-Cent Fresh Pizza…Seriously

In an effort to save some dough, I’ve been on the hunt for awesome food deals and I happened to find one the other day. There’s a tiny little pizzeria near me called 99 Cents Fresh Pizza…and the name doesn’t lie. I remember when I was a kid, one slice of pizza was a mere 65 cents, and now, most places charge over $2, which is beyond obnoxious. Upon finding this place, I rationalized that the pizza must be AWFUL if it’s 99 cents, but it turned out to be really good. I just tried a plain slice because I was a little nervous in the first place, but the sauce was tasty, there was a good amount of cheese, and if it had one fault, I would say it’s a little on the thin and small side. But still, for 99 cents? And $8 for an entire pie? Really, you can’t beat that.

The main downside of 99 Cents is there aren’t any places to sit (though there is a counter), but this place cranks out pies so fast, you don’t really need to sit. I stood by (happily devouring my slice) and watched someone order a full pie with pepperoni – and it was freshly made, cooked and boxed in slightly over 5 minutes. Delivery must be awesome for this place, which will be my next on my "To Eat" list.

After some Googling, I found they actually have two locations, one in Midtown East (the one I tried) and one in Midtown West. They want to make sure that no one is without cheap, yummy pizza; no matter what side of Manhattan you’re on!
