This is not exactly food-related, but this is my blog and I’ll write what I want damn it. I just wanted to send out a quick congratulations to my best friend Andrew and his beautiful new wife, Jessica. I was lucky enough to be a part of their wedding this past Saturday, and I had an amazing time. Aside from it being the most gorgeous day all summer, everything went smoothly and I stuffed my face with delicious food. I had my first experience with a "mashed potato bar," and I might be officially addicted. You have your choice of four different types of mashed potatoes (redskin, bacon, regular and sweet potatoes) served with 2 or 3 scoops in a martini glass, and then you top it with your favorite mashed potato fixins (think chives, sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon, onions and GRAVY) – it was heaven. I had thirds, so by the time the actual dinner came around I could barely eat again. But believe me, it was well worth it; all those carbs gave me the energy I needed to make my speech.
