TASTES From The Meatpacking District – This Saturday!

What do you get when you take some of New York's best restaurants and chefs, put them together on a cobblestone street and make them cook for you? TASTES from the Meatpacking District through Chelsea. This Saturday, June 5th, the NYC Lab School for Collaborative Studies and Manhattan's finest downtown eateries bring you this festival to raise funds for essential arts and enrichment programs at the school. One ticket ($35 online, $45 day of) gets you 6 TASTES, so if you're hungry for more, you'll have to buy another ticket. Just remember, it's all for a good cause. See below for this year's participating restaurants. My faves have asterisks next to them – I picked 6 so you know where to go first – aren't I helpful??

5 Ninth, Aleo, Amy’s Bread, Bill’s Bar and Burger, Bombay Talkie, The Green Table, Buddakan, Dos Caminos, El Quinto Pino, *Fatty Crab, Klee Brasserie, La Bottega, Lucy’s Whey, *Macelleria, Matsuri, *Pastis, *The Red Cat, Rocking Horse Café, The Simple Kitchen, Smorgas Chef, Spice Market, Stella’s Pizza, Suenos, *Tanuki Tavern, Tia Pol, *Trestle on Tenth, Txikito, and Zampa.

All of the above will be setting up shop on Gansevoort Street this Saturday from 11:30 am – 3 pm, so come on by and have a few TASTES. There will also be live music for your entertainment, but if that doesn't motivate you, you can always count on seeing SOME celebrity in this uber-trendy area. Chefs are celebrities in my eyes, so that's good enough for me. Plus, it's an afternoon full of face-stuffing in the name of charity. Why the hell not? As if you have something better to do.
