This has to be one of the weirdest things I've ever done for cookies. Apparently there is an iPhone app where you can put in your location and it tells you where you can find the nearest Girl Scout cookie-outpost. A Skinny Pig's dream come true! I've been pretty loyal to my Blackberry but that alone is making me consider making the switch. Anyway..
It was so sketch and so funny walking into this random building in Chelsea and just blurting out "cookies?" to the doorman. "6th Floor", he responds with a smile. Ok, not too bad. We get out onto the 6th Floor which is apparently some kind of Girl Scout headquarters and they tell us to "go to the back". Now it's sketch again. Am I buying Girl Scout cookies on the Black Market or something? What IS this?!
Please look at what we came upon next.
Is this real?! Cracking up the ENTIRE time, we finally reach the back room which was STOCKED and I mean STOCKED with boxes and boxes of Girl Scout cookies! Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Samoas, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes…you name it they have it! I was getting all excited (and nostalgic – I don't think I've had Girl Scout cookies since I WAS one) and then I saw this:
What in the hell?? WHERE AM I?! So weird. I tried to look at the bright side: I'm going to stock up on Girl Scout cookies for $4 a box. Good cause, good cookies. I left with this:
2 boxes of Thin Mints, 1 box of Samoas, and 1 box of Tagalongs. I actually like the Lemon Chalet Cremes too but I ran out of cash and it's cash or check only. Lemon Chalet Cremes just sound like something I would serve at a tea party with tiny cucumber sandwiches while discussing my futures account and squash tournaments. I look forward to that one day. In the meantime, I will sit in my cubicle and enjoy a Tagalong…or two.
