Why I’m on #TeamCapezio (VIDEO)

Despite the somber photo I chose (those are my first pair of pointe shoes that hang over my bed), I’m actually super excited to share this story with you guys! I’ve been waiting a long time for the appropriate platform to do so, and I finally found it:

For those of you who don’t know this, I used to be a dancer (of the classical variety) and Capezio is one of the largest dance apparel companies in the world. They’ve been around for 127 years, since their first store opened right here in New York City by Salvatore Capezio. My first pair of tap shoes were Capezios, and I still use their shoes to this day. Oh yes, I was a tap dancer. Don’t you laugh at that.

At this point you’re probably asking, “how is this related to food? Or bacon?!” Well, calm down, crazy. It all comes together and I explain it (briefly) here in this video to Tanya Becker, founder of Physique 57, which is a great ballet-inspired workout I’ve been doing off and on for years. You ask how SkinnyPig stays skinny…well this is part of it. I just want to look like this again. LOOK AT MY ABS. THIS IS UNFAIR. Granted I was about 23 here, but whatever.

I’m proud to be part of #TeamCapezio as a brand ambassador, and I will be creating content for their Spotlight Blog every week. From personal stories to tips and recipes, it’s my new outlet for all things dance, which I miss terribly. I still do it occasionally, but I’m old and my body is falling apart so I can’t say I do it well anymore… my leg may have been broken, but my spirit shan’t be!

And here’s a little throwback to SP in the hospital. My stuffed animal friend is with me. His name was Morphine. 🙂

Feel free to leave a comment or email me with any questions. I’d love to hear from you guys. <3
