Drinks at: The Springs

Here’s a fun fact about me: I have a weird obsession with the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.

The cars, the clothes, the music…it just seemed like a great era to be a part of. So when I was invited to The Springs, a new cocktail bar with a huge outdoor “patio” boasting “50’s/60’s Palm Springs vibes”, I had to go and check it out.

The Springs is in the old t.b.d. bar space in Greenpoint, and it’s been completely revamped with bright colors, big umbrellas, and a serious food truck. The burger is on POINT and the Royal Mac & Cheese with Frank’s Red Hot, bacon, and scallions was like my childhood, turned up a fiery notch. Oh and the eggplant rollatini? They remove the sog-factor by rolling up sliced eggplant with mozzarella inside, then breading and deep frying, and serving the marinara sauce on the side with a dollop of ricotta on top. Brilliant.

If drinking is more your speed, they have boozy slushies! The Scooby Snack is like a pina colada with a Coca Cola float, and the bright and colorful Aperol Seltzer is made with Aperol, sparkling wine and an orange slice. You can see the full menu here. And you can see me hula hooping on Instagram. Yes, they have hula hoops on occasion…

If you’re looking for a fun and chill spot to day-drink with friends on a weekend, or enjoy a cocktail on the patio after work, this is the place to do it.
