Ok so, this is one of my favorite things in the world to eat.
I have to credit one of my exes for this one, unfortunately. Actually I have to credit his mom. Evidently she used to make him this when he was sick, and now, I make it for myself when I get sick too.
Or…when I’m being super lazy and staying cozy inside on a blustery, 5-degree weather day.
It’s a lot simpler than it sounds. I’m not actually making the bread – this is classic white bread, just doctored up a bit with cinnamon, honey, and butter. Mmmm butter on toast. One of the simplest, greatest joys in life.
I don’t measure any of this, so I’m not really laying out a recipe here, but I’ll do my best. Main piece of advice is to stick with white or wheat bread, because anything overly seasoned (rye, sourdough, etc) will overpower it.
I figure it’s roughly the below, for 2 slices:
Honey Bread w/Cinnamon & Butter
- 2 slices of white bread (use whatever as long as it’s a mild-tasting bread)
- 2 tsp butter per slice
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon per slice
- 1 tbsp honey per slice
Directions
- Just slather the butter on, then sprinkle and drizzle away, friends. There’s no wrong measurements here. If you don’t love cinnamon, cut it back. If you don’t love honey, try a little bit of pure maple syrup. No judgment.
- Enjoy with a hot cup of tea and your favorite movie. I’m so warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it.
As always, thanks to FreshDirect for the ingredients! #FDambassador
