Cupcake Stop’s Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcakes – Taste Test

Red Velvet and Pumpkin Cheesecake Minis So I may not have made it down to Cupcake Stop today myself due to impending work deadlines, but like any smart fatty foodie, I sent one of my loyal subjects down there to pick it up for me. I don't mess around when it comes to Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcakes.

Apparently, Cupcake Stop offers 5 mini cupcakes for $1, and you can get any variety you want. Can I get an amen?! So LS (loyal subject) got three Pumpkin Cheesecake cupcakes, one Red Velvet, and one Double Chocolate. Smart man. After sitting under my desk at work for most of the afternoon, they got a little squished and the icing melted a bit, but I had to take that risk. If I opened them at work they would have been gone in a nanosecond, even though they didn't last much longer than that when I opened them…

Squished! But didn't affect the taste one bit..

The Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake was AMAZING – it was so moist and the icing was perfect. I make pumpkin cheesecake every year and I think I make it pretty well, but this tasted even better and it's bite-size. "Bite-size" translated to girl-speak is "low-fat", so…win-win situation. I would have gotten a better picture for you, but I really couldn't put it down for too long after I started eating it. So this is what I was left with:

A mere morsel…disappeared shortly after this photo was taken.

The other cupcakes were great too, they just had a tough act to follow. The Double Chocolate was perfect for a chocoholic like myself – so fudgy and moist. I realize I keep emphasizing the "moist" factor, but I think it's taken for granted in some places; it's not ALL about the icing people! I managed to put that one down for a moment to try to capture the gooey, chocolatey goodness.

Try not to lick the screen.

The Red Velvet was also good, but probably the least moist of the three (though still a much better red velvet than most bakeries). If I had that one first, I might have felt differently; but since it followed a creamy cupcake like the Pumpkin Cheesecake and the super-moist Double Chocolate, it fell a little short by comparison. However, the icing on the Red Velvet was probably better than the cake, and that was the only icing of the three varieties that managed to hold it's shape.

FYI I'm aware my camera sucks. Hint Hint SANTA.

Thank you, Cupcake Stop, for the scrumptious addition to your menu (yes I said scrumptious). I vote to make the Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake the official Cupcake of Thanksgiving. Who's with me?!

Here's Cupcake Stop's menu. Why didn't LS tell me there was Fluffernutter?! He will be banished to the dungeon without food or cupcake. Just kidding. I heart you LS  🙂
