Bacon, bourbon, beer, and bull riding, oh my! At the end of this month, the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival is coming to NYC for a day filled of fattening fun. On Jan 30th, held in Chelsea at La Venue, most of the tickets are sold out already (drat!), but you can still get into the afternoon session (5-9 pm) for $75 a pop. The first session (sold out, unfortunately) is the "Whole Hog" session, where they are cooking up ten different kinds of bacon. TEN! I just drooled on myself a little. The rest of the event doesn't sound too shabby either: guests will sip over 60 beers and 40 high end bourbons, sample BBQ from some of the best pitmasters in the South, all the while enjoying some Bluegrass music. Many restaurants will be on hand as well, paying homage to the wonder that is BBQ by serving some of their favorite Southern dishes. General admission gets you into the event, a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited sampling of beer and bourbon, and of course, some food.
And of course, there's a mechanical bull. Need I say more?
