Todd English and Kittichai Work On Asian-American BBQ Restaurant

I haven't even had a chance to post my review of Ca Va, Todd English's (relatively) new restaurant in Times Square, and he's already opening up another one sometime this fall. Well, maybe a slight exaggeration; he's one of the consulting chefs.  The owners, Ace Watanasuparp and Chai Huadwattana of Spot Dessert Bar and OBAO, have hired two celebrity chef-consultants: Todd English (aforementioned) and Ian Chalermkittichai (of Kittichai restaurant in Soho) to conceptualize their unnamed restaurant at 647 Ninth Avenue nr. West 45th St. The space is bi-level, seats 140, and according to Grub Street, it's a medium price point with an Asian-American BBQ theme. Not really sure what that would entail, but according to the release, it's "American BBQ with Asian accents spanning a wide cross-section of Asian cuisines, including Indian, Southeast Asian, Korean, etc."

I'm already a little confused – but it might be good. I could totally go for some short ribs-vindaloo with kimchee and grits…
