This Just In…

More openings today. Despite the disgusting weather, looks to be a pretty good day in the foodie world.

Taproom No. 307 – I got all excited and thought this was a bar with tap-dancing, but no such luck. It will be exciting for beer drinkers though – 42 of them on tap! Hoorayyy. And if beer isn't your thing, the food is likely to turn you on: five cheese mac n cheese, mushroom arancini, deviled eggs with smoked chili sea salt, mussels in a beer broth, pulled pork sliders with sesame sriracha slaw, and NUTELLA bread pudding with hazelnut ice cream. I am not picking favorites..Click here for the food menu and the beer menu   307 3rd avenue, nr 24th st, 212-725-4766

Souvlaki GR – OPA! I have to say that this city (with the exception of Queens) is seriously lacking in the Greek food department. I loveeee Greek food. Just 8 months ago the Souvlaki GR food truck rolled out around town, and now it has opened a brick and mortar spot that looks really cute inside (check out Grub Street for photos). They are just opening for lunch today, but soon they will be open 7 days a week and delivery will be available soon too. I hope it's good. Being Greek and from Queens I have very high expectations…  116 Stanton St nr Essex, 212-77-0116

Empellon – This new Mexican spot (run by former WD-50 pastry chef Alex Stupak) will also be opening today and featuring all kinds of yummy things not served in pill-form or encapsulated goo. Grilled headcheese tacos also sound kind of strange though, but there's always tempura fish tacos. Ooooo… 230 West 4th st nr West 10th, 212-367-0999
