Not wanting to be left out of the beer garden craze, Tom Colicchio is bringing Lot On Tap, a massive 350-seat outdoor bar, under Chelsea's newly expanded Highline at 30th street and 10th ave. Run by Colicchio's restaurant, Colicchio & Sons, the "tap room" will be serving sodas, wine and an assortment of beers on tap, including rotating seasonals like the Brooklyn Highline Elevated Wheat beer made by Brooklyn Brewery specifically for Lot On Tap. As for the food, good ol' Tom doesn't want you to pay too much either:
"We'll be offering food that is sustainable, and local, that goes well with beer and wine – and that isn't terribly expensive."
What do you mean Tom?? Food trucks, of course. Because one craze can't survive without another. The rotating trucks will include Red Hook Lobster Pound (lobster rolls), Coolhaus (ice cream sandwiches), Taim's Mobile (falafel), Kelvin Slush (slushies!), and the Taco Truck (guess).
Lot On Tap will be serving food from 11 am – 10 pm, Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 am – 11 pm Thursday through Saturday. You may not need your tap shoes, but you will need your appetite and drinking pants.
