Happy 4th!

Ok I've been slacking lately (read: tired) so I thought I'd jump on quick and share a few cool things I found for the 4th. Keep in mind, you uptowners and eastsiders, the show is going down on the westside this year, so viewing points are along 11th ave at 24th st, 26th-30th sts, 40th-44th sts, 47th – 52nd sts, and 54th-57th sts.

White Circle Line and World Yacht are teaming up to host a fireworks-viewing party on the Hudson. Tickets are $85, and there will be food and booze for sale as well. Click here for more info

If you're going to do the boat thing though, I think I'd rather spend a little extra on Frying Pan's shindig – $100 get's you a two hour open bar and appetizers, $175 gets you three hour open bar and buffet. Click here for more info.

If you don't want to pay to get in anywhere to watch the fireworks (but don't mind paying for food), you can hit up Pier I Cafe or Boat Basin.

And this is not really something to do for the 4th, but the 4th always makes me think of hot dogs, and starting today, Shake Shack is bringing their corn dogs back! Their corn dogs are just fantastic. I don't even LIKE corn dogs usually, so you know they're good. AND they only come around a few times a year – for what reason I don't know – is there a season for corn dogs??. Every location will have them except for the one in Madison Square Park. WACK.

You can also forget the Highline for the 4th – it won't be open. ALSO WACK.

As for me, I have no plans yet – but I guarantee it will involve copious amounts of food and booze. And corndogs. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

  3. It’s so nice to have you do all of the research for us. It makes our decision making so much easier!! Thanks.

  4. Boat Basin’s shindig is the best. Last month, the celebration ended with fireworks while everyone is still eating and drinking a lot of beers.

  5. “These appointments give Christian County a voice on issues that affect families and children in Kentucky and nationally,” Judge Fleming said. “My role on the Military Committee will help me better serve our military families stationed right here at Fort Campbell. It is an honor to be selected for these important committees.”
