German Beer Tasting at Loreley in Williamsburg, this Wednesday, August 17th. Guests will taste nine different varieties of beer including Gaffel Koelsch, Bitburger Pilsener, Kostritzer Schwarzbier, Franziskaner Hefeweizen, Erdinger Dark and Spaten Ur-Marzen. Good thing you just have to taste them, not pronounce them, right? The tasting includes a 3-course German dinner featuring summer salad, a sausage platter with housemade sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and Black Forest cake for dessert. Don't worry, vegetarian beer lovers – there is a veggie option as well! Tickets are $29 and available here.
M. Wells Diner in LIC is supposedly closing at the end of August due to high rents, a short lease, and a strict buy-out clause. Supposedly they will relocate in a different space in LIC, but for now, I haven't been and I am going to try to get there before D-Day. If only for this 24 oz burger-monstrosity-thing..
