Delicious food that photographs beautifully.
That’s how I would describe High Street on Hudson.
Maybe that’s not what the average person looks for in a restaurant, but it’s a high selling point for a photographer like myself. Every dish was plated perfectly, I think I took over 10 pics of each dish. When I eat at a restaurant like High Street on Hudson, I have to stop myself and say “one of these will work. Just eat it”. Imagine that? Having to remind yourself to eat? That’s usually not a problem for me.
The space is lovely too – warm and inviting, with a small bread and coffee station up front, and an open chef’s kitchen in the back. The menu has been redesigned thanks to new Executive Chef Sean McPaul (formerly Chef de Cuisine of Upland), which boasts New American with his own global influences.
Do not miss the carrots over house-made smoky carrot mole, the squid ink mafaldine, or the angolo with tomato spiced kabocha squash pasta. Even the dessert was delicious, and you know I am not a sweet-tooth.
