We all know how much I love a good steak. It’s one of those foods I don’t make for myself a ton, so when I’m presented with the opportunity to review a steakhouse, I rarely turn it down.
I’m happy to report that our meal at Frankie and Johnnie’s (the one on 37th street) exceeded expectations. Don’t let my poorly-lit steak photos fool you – it was cooked to perfection, only thing that was missing was the extra meat juice. Which sounds gross on paper but in person…you need that.
We ordered a porterhouse AND a rib eye, and for presentation purposes they transferred the meats to one large plate, making it two things:
1 – impossible for me to pick up to take my photos in good light
2 – lacking in meat juice
Look, the steak was still amazing so I’m not REALLY complaining, but it had to be said.
Other things we ordered and devoured:
The Wedge Salad with tomato, bacon and blue cheese, the creamed spinach, the burrata and tomato, and a baked potato. No one said it was a light lunch.
Honestly the meal was perfect from start to finish, including the service. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and my favorite: not overbearing. If you haven’t been here yet, I’d go ahead and add it to your list for lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed.
