Mother’s Day Brunch Guide 2019

Before we get started, I’d just like to say that I nearly forgot my own birthday this year. So if you’re like me, sitting around wondering where the damn time has gone…don’t worry, you’re not alone.

To that end, I’d like to help you with your Mother’s Day reservations. There are still options out there, and I’ve done the legwork of rounding them up for you – take a look and see what you like. Bonus: the Opentable link is right there for you. Go forth, my brunch-y brethren; Mom won’t know about your negligence.

  • Tavern on the Green
An NYC classic on the UWS. Perfect cocktails, eggs, and people watching. Prix Fixe is $115 pp and includes options like Maine Lobster Eggs Benedict, Madeleines with whipped Strawberry Butter, and Molten Black and White Chocolate Cake for dessert.

  • La Pecora Bianca
One of my favorite places for pasta and vino, LPB is such a gorgeous restaurant, and they make all their pasta in house. The Mother’s Day Prix Fixe is $50 pp for 3 courses, including dessert. Get the gramigna pasta with sausage, broccolini, garlic, and chili flakes, or try the Mother’s Day Special: Poached Eggs with Asparagus and Morel Hollandaise.

  • The Milling Room
Beautiful, sleek American restaurant on the UWS with skylit dining room. The Boursin cheese Omelette is my favorite, and try the Latkes with Kalamansi Lime Creme Fraiche to start.

  • The Smith
Quite literally one of my favorite brunch and lunch spots in the city. Multiple locations, but Midtown seems to have more openings…don’t miss the Hot Potato Chips with Blue Cheese Fondue or the Cinnamon Toffee Brioche.

  • L’amico
I love it here any day, but they had me at Omelette Souffle Cacio e Pepe. And Fennel Sausage and Egg pizza with Buffalo Mozzarella.

  • ilili
If Mom likes Lebanese fare, you might want to take her here. Amazing mezze, and the Mother’s Day Specials include their delicious Lamb Shank for two; it melts in your mouth. And don’t skip dessert! The presentation is almost as good as the taste.

  • Cosme
I’d go here just for the dessert. And if you know me, that’s a BIG deal because I barely even eat dessert. It’s a corn husk meringue and it is out of this world good. Just try it and trust me. But oh yea, brunch is great too.

  • Milos
If you’re into Greek food, Milos is hard to beat, in food and ambiance. Grilled octopus and calamari is amazing.

  • Empellon Taqueria
Amazing Mexican fare in a lovely setting in the heart of the west village. I love everything here but the guac and smoked cashew salsa is a perfect place to start.

Some of the most beautiful views in the city, and great Mother’s Day Prix Fixe Brunch! 3 courses and live jazz music for $70 pp.
