It’s almost that time of year…the end of grilling season. Sad face.

So here’s the thing, I actually love Fall, so I’m not going to complain about brisk air and the smell of Crisp Apple Yankee Candles wafting through my apartment (sorry, I don’t bake much or I’d just make an apple pie every day), but I will miss the good ol’ summer BBQ.

Just a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of trying Snake River Farms meats and I have to say, I was VERY impressed. They specialize in American Wagyu beef, Northwest beef, and dry-aged meats. Their Double Ranch hot dogs were SO plump and perfect, and the Kurobata pork sounds amazing too (but I have yet to get to that).

Everything arrived frozen in an insulated bag (loved that bag so much I actually kept it), so I left a few things frozen (like the pork) and only defrosted the hot dogs and the steak – it was a small BBQ, so don’t worry, I’ll get to the rest soon..

We made the American Wagyu Bavette steak, and right in the package you can see the intense amount of marbling throughout. You know it’s going to be tender and flavorful, but I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was.

A little salt and pepper, threw it on the grill for a few minutes on each side and BOOM – delicious, tender steak. Seriously loved the flavor – we saved the leftovers to make thin-sliced steak sandwiches the next day.

More to come on Snake River Farms, but I highly recommend you give them a try! Use my link here to order. And they ship anywhere in the US, so for those of you who will have a few more months of grill season, I envy you.
