Beef & Cheddar Sliders with Kings Hawaiian Rolls

Sooo excited to be working with King’s Hawaiian! I’ve been a fan for a long time and now I’m finally creating a recipe for them. Dreams do come true! And good news: this recipe is DELICIOUS.

King’s Hawaiian has introduced a new product: Pre-Sliced Slider Buns! Most of you know I’m really into football snacks, aka foods you can eat while watching the game, so I thought this would be a perfect fit for the Super Bowl LIV next week (2/2).

These sliders are so easy to make, and you can definitely mix up the ingredients per your tastes and guests. For example, I can see this being great with a horseradish sauce instead of BBQ, or you can use a different cheese. Get creative, no judgment here.

The real key to this recipe is the buttery, sweet and sticky glaze that goes on top before you bake. Yes, they will be a little soggy if you leave them out for too long, but trust me, these won’t last very long on the table so that shouldn’t even be an issue.

Note: I used a 9 x 13 casserole dish, and I ripped the cheddar slices into thirds to fit them onto the buns. There’s no real specific measurement needed, I have never met someone who eats cheese and says “less cheese”, right?

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb of thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (I used original Sweet Baby Ray’s)
  • One package of Kings Hawaiian Pre-Sliced Slider Buns (9 buns)
  • 6 slices cheddar
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Tear up the roast beef with your hands a little and add to a large bowl. Add the BBQ sauce and stir to combine until all the roast beef is coated.
  3. Open the Kings Hawaiian Pre-Sliced Slider Buns and place in a casserole dish that will fit it. Take off the tops (try to keep them together though) and set aside. Add roast beef mixture to each bottom bun and be generous! Top with cheddar slices and place the tops back on.
  4. In a sauce pot over medium heat, add the unsalted stick of butter, mustard, Worcestershire, brown sugar, and poppy seeds. Stir together until all is melted, don’t let it boil!
  5. Pour the glaze all over the buns. Bake for 20-30 minutes until the tops are nice and brown and crispy. Serve immediately!

This post was written in partnership with King’s Hawaiian. All opinions (and bad jokes) are my own.
