The Perfect Cooking Class for Beginners (or Anyone Who Loves Carbs)

The class kicks off with pasta-making, where you learn the delicate balance of flour, eggs, and patience. It’s a cooking class for beginners, but even if you have some experience, there’s something special about rolling out your own dough and shaping it into pasta that looks (and tastes) better than anything boxed. Bonus: You get to take some home, which led to my late-night lemon-pasta that never disappoints.

Next up: PIZZA. And not just any pizza—bubbly, Neapolitan-style pizza with the kind of perfectly charred crust that makes me happy inside. I know that style isn’t for everyone but it’s truly one of my personal faves. Chewy and light, it’s just the perfect bite. The chef makes sure you get hands-on with stretching, topping, and baking your own masterpiece.

And because no Italian feast is complete without dessert, we ended with cannoli-making or technically cannoli-stuffing. The piping bags were already filled with the ricotta filling (and chocolate chips), and we piped it into the shells. Let it be known that I typically dislike cannolis, and these were the only ones I liked?! Perhaps that’s why this place is called Cannoli King. In case you’re wondering how I could dislike them, it’s something about the cream, I usually find it chalky and kinda blah, but these were really smooth and you could really taste a nice hint of cinnamon in there. Delicious.

A Cooking Class with Friends, or a Birthday Celebration Idea? Absolutely.

One thing that stood out was how fun and interactive this experience was. The chef had us laughing, the atmosphere was lively, and it was the kind of class that’s perfect for a birthday celebration, a cooking class with friends, or even a unique date night. Plus, the restaurant setting made it feel less like a class and more like an immersive Little Italy dining experience.

Final Thoughts: A Cooking Class NYC Experience Worth Booking

This wasn’t just a class—it was a cooking class and dinner, a history lesson, and an excuse to eat some of the best food in NYC, all rolled into one.
