My Sephora Sale Picks!

Does anyone else feel like they could spend $500 in Sephora without blinking an eye??

I’ve walked in there many a time thinking “I just need eyeliner” and walked out with 7 things, 5 of which I didn’t “need.”

Listen. I’m a sucker for cute packaging and things organized neatly. And don’t even get me STARTED on the checkout line – that entire section is lined with cute mini sizes and it gets me EVERY DAMN TIME. All that is to say, I’m always PUMPED for a sale and as a VIB member, I’ll take those extra savings! USE CODE: TIMETOSAVE – 30% off Sephora Collection, 15% off all else.

If you know anything about me, you know I loves me a good skincare routine. That’s the stuff I really enjoy. Truthfully, I didn’t get serious about it until I was in my 30’s, but I guess better late than never?

I’m very fair-skinned, so I’ve always been someone who wears sunscreen, but as I’ve gotten older, I noticed there is one thing that has helped me IMMENSELY in the anti-aging process: face oils.

I know, I know. If you’re not used to it, it almost sounds like an oxymoron. WHY would you WANT to put OIL on your FACE?! I assure you I thought the same thing, until I tried it.

First off, it just FEELS luxurious. I love a good body oil, specifically this one from Nars. It’s got a glowy tan sparkle to it, be advised, but it’s subtle and again, as a pale person, I really like it. It also smells HEAVENLY. Men always seem to like it too and even if they didn’t, who cares? I feel sexy whenever I throw it on, man or no mans! So I started to think, if it’s good for my body, why wouldn’t it be good for my face?!

My first favorite face oil they don’t make anymore, which is upsetting, but it was Glamglow Star Potion. It’s black, which is probably even more off putting to a first time face oil user, but I’m just really brave, what can I say? #lol. I have ONE bottle left – I stocked up once I heard they were discontinuing it.

But I digress. Now, my favorite face oils are by Drunk Elephant – this A-Gloei Maretinol Oil is with .5% retinol (at night only, this A-Passioni Retinol is the cream version which is slightly higher at 1.0%) and the other is the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. I use this one after shaving/dermaplaning (I use LeafShave!!) and any other type of exfoliating, or whenever my skin is looking a little listless and dull (hello winter skin).

Truthfully, face oils are great for aging skin, so if you haven’t tried them yet, now is the time! And like I said, there’s something spa-like about throwing on a face and body oil.

Another thing I really love and highly recommend? The Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. It’s the BEST RED you’ll find and it stays put very well. I throw on Laneige lip balm on top or Too Faced Lip Injection because it goes on shiny and liquidy, but it will become more matte if you don’t gloss it up. See example below:

As someone who struggles with undereye circles and fine lines, aside from using retinol, I’ve found this Wrinkle Blur cream from Ole Henriksen to be helpful. I put it on before I put on my makeup; it sort of smoothes everything out. Then I add Milk makeup Hydro Grip Primer as an undereye primer and I’m ready to conceal!

I’ll be honest on this one, I don’t know that I notice so much “tightening” benefits with this Brazilian Bum Bum cream but 1 – I am not consistent with using it, and 2 – I don’t care because it smells so damn good it doesn’t even matter. That’s the main reason I buy it and I have no shame in admitting that. This little set makes a cute gift!

And speaking of things that smell amazing, I’m obsessed with Glossier You perfume. It smells a little different on everyone, but that’s the point – it works with your body’s chemistry/pheromones/idk it’s science. It’s super clean and energizing, my mom loves it too and she’s a picky one when it comes to fragrance. Great gift set here as well!

Lastly, if I’m going to recommend anything to you in the skincare department, it’s this. MY HOLY GRAIL: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Serum. I hate the smell, but I love the results, so that’s how you know I mean it. If something doesn’t smell good, I’m inclined not to use it and this stuff smells like crap. But it’s so good, no one cares, and it’s a best seller for a reason. Not a night goes by where I don’t use this.

I’d actually LOVE your makeup recs!! I love a good nude eyeshadow palette and I need a new one. Any ideas?! Also love playing with lip colors (reds/nudes) and a good, black eyeliner. Pretty basic, but go for it if you got em!
