One of the perks of my job (that I still look forward to) is my invite to the press day at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, where they unveil all the new happenings for the stadium. And the new snacks!
I’ve been going to this event for almost a decade (yikes) and it’s always fun to see what New York’s favorite underdogs are up to. Not to mention I get to try all the new foods, or at least as many of them as I can. The options are borderline overwhelming, but I’m hardly complaining, as you can see below.
Fun fact: Citi Field was voted the #1 Best Stadium Food in 2023 by USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. And it’s not hard to see why, I truly think they have some of the best vendors!
Another thing that’s cool about this press event? I get a handy dandy list of all the food vendors, the upcoming Mets promotional games, and the concerts at Citi Field for 2024, and I get to share them with YOU!
HEADS UP! Foo Fighters and Green Day are playing at Citi Field this summer!! AHHHH! July 17th-19th for Foo Fighters, August 5th for Green Day. See ya there (hopefully).
And if you haven’t been to Bagelfest before in NYC, exciting news! They’ll be hosting Bagelfest at Citi Field this year in September! I’ve been a judge the past few years, so I can vouch – it’s a good time if you like bagels! And really, who doesn’t?

Notes: keep in mind, the images below with the vendors are specific to the food they served us on the press day. Think of it like our “menu,” so when you go to the stadium, you might see something a little different, and obviously not all of this food is available to everyone, sadly. Some of the options are only served in the Delta Club or Clover Home Plate Club, etc.
Notes on the actual food: in my humble opinion, you can’t go wrong with a classic Sausage & Peppers at a ball game, but my favorites are usually Pat LaFrieda’s burgers or the steak sandwich, Shake Shack, Pig Beach (new brisket mac n cheese this year was dope!), Big Mozz mozzarella sticks, and Empanada Mama.
Glaze Donuts got a real homerun with their awesome NY Mets logo cupcakes (which served as the centerpiece for my photos), but people were losing their minds over the Rainbow Cookie Eggroll (wrapped in an eggroll wrapper and deep fried) from Wok N Roll. I truly dislike rainbow cookies, but I tried this out of sheer curiosity and even I didn’t hate it. The almond paste is what I don’t like, but for some reason, it wasn’t as strong in this one. So if you like rainbow cookies, you’ll probably LOVE this.
There are always celebrity chef appearances every year as well, so this year we have Anne Burrell’s Italian Eats, Adam Richman’s Burger Hall of Fame, and Judy Joo’s Seoul Bird!
