For those of you not staying home and cooking this Thanksgiving (like me) or traveling home for the holidays, below are some options for dining out in the city. Some are traditional, some are different, and some are prix fixe; basically there's something for everyone. I discovered recently that there are people who don't like Thanksgiving food (weirdos), or the effort that goes into it (standard), so I thought this info might help. I even took the liberty of checking available reservation times from OpenTable..
Bistro Les Amis: I haven't been here in a whileeee but I used to frequent it quite often and it was delicious. One of the best tiramisu's I've ever tried. They are offering a $39.95 pp prix fixe Thanksgiving menu as well as their a la carte menu. Reservations not available online.
Casa Lever: 4 course prix fixe menu with turkey and all of the trimmings, for the traditional folk out there. Reservations available from 5-9.
Chinatown Brasserie: For the non-traditional, with Peking turkey, tempura yams and string beans, and wok fried pork belly. Their a la carte menu is also available. Reservations available from 5:30-8.
Ed's Chowder House: Great deal here – $39 pp 3 course Thanksgiving prix fixe in addition to their a la carte menu. Reservations still available from 5-8. Special discount for children as well.
Fagiolini: This place is like home to me. My dad used to live around the corner so we would eat here a lot. Not because the food is so amazing, but it is always solid and has great service. They also happen to have what seems to be the best deal in the city, a 3-course prix fixe for $22 pp. Hence the lack of available reservations – only a few around 7 pm were still available.
Highpoint Bistro & Bar: Early birds? Highpoint is serving Thanksgiving brunch and dinner for $30 pp. Reservations available from 12-3 and 5-8.
Klee: Take some twists on Thanksgiving with maple laced turkey and pumpkin pie with schlag (??) for $65 pp prix fixe. Reservations available from 5-9.
Olio: I love the dough at this West Village spot. Olio puts Thanksgiving on a Pie with their Pizza Ringraziamento (Italian term for Thanksgiving), with smoked turkey, burrata, arugula and parmesan. Prefer Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches? Try theit "Grazie" Panuozzo, a panini stuffed with turkey, tomato, eggplant, mozz, and mayo. The best part about Olio? They're open until the morning of Black Friday for all you night owls/crazy Black Friday shoppers..
The Red Cat: One of my favorite spots for holiday prix fixe meals. They book up fast and dont take reservations online, but I still felt it was worth mentioning. Their $70 pp prix fixe from 3-9 is sure to please.
SushiSamba: More non traditional options at this sushi spot. Along with their regular menu, they are adding Thanksgiving-inspired options like short rib gyozas, Mojo Organic roasted turkey and Kobicha cheesecake. Reservations available from 5-9.
There's plenty of other options available here. But these were my personal picks.
