4 Things I’m Loving This Week

In honor of America taking the day off (I think people still do that, right?), I thought I’d share a light and breezy roundup. Not everything I write has to be intense but MY GOD don’t we love an intense rant?

Soon.

Truth be told, I want to start sharing more things on here as opposed to just food stuffs. Even though we all know how much I love to stuff myself with foods.

That’s not to say that some of the things I love won’t be food related, because they definitely will be. Favorite new cookware, gadgets, restaurants, bars…all of that will appear here too. But you’ll also get things like…travel tips (that might end up being one list with one word: Xanax), workout classes, books, skincare (I know, but I DO get asked about that a lot), and TV/movies/Broadway shows. Because if you’ve been following me a while, you know how much I loves me some theater.

So…now that you’re caught up. Let’s discuss my 4 things for this week!

  1. Frywall. OMG. I have to thank Hilary Rhoda for this one. If you don’t know who she is, she’s a supermodel for Estee Lauder and countless other huge names, and we met once at a Thanksgiving charity event for No Kid Hungry and became Instafriends. Or I just stalk her page, that’s the same as a friend, right? Regardless, I’ve had this thing for a while since she posted it on her story, and it is a LIFESAVER when it comes to frying things. It looks a little insane but who cares? I don’t have to get on my hands and knees and scrub my floors after I make cutlets. It’s genius and it’s oven/dishwasher safe! Oven safe up to 450 degrees I believe, just make sure it doesn’t touch open flame or sit in hot oil. Click here to buy!  FAQ on their website here.
  2. illy Caffe Ready To Drink. This was easily one of the craziest PR packages I’ve seen in a while. I have a love/hate relationship with those though, because it just makes me feel like they’re wasting a lot of good paper but I recycle so I guess it’s ok? Still, illy sent me this huge box that looks like a retro refrigerator and it comes stocked with cans of illy premium espresso style coffee. Flavors include Unsweetened (that’s my fave), Cappuccino, Caffe Latte, Mochaccino, Caffe. Also, they have no preservatives, added colors or flavors, and use Non-GMO beet sugar to sweeten. We all know how I feel about sugar and conversely, how I feel about caffeine, so I’m loving these. Click here to buy!
  3. Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara. Listen, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so if I’m posting about makeup here, you know I fucking mean it. I have basically no eyelashes and this mascara has changed my life. A friend got it for me for my birthday last year and I’ve been addicted ever since. It lifts and separates better than any other mascara I’ve tried, and the formula is thick so it adds volume, but not too thick that it clumps. It just WORKS and really makes my eyes pop in photos (at least for me). Click here to buy!
  4. The Handmaid’s Tale. Ok let me just clarify and say that “love” is the wrong word for this because it is a HORRIFYING show. I’m just really wrapped up in it now. It’s not “horror” by the classic definition, it’s just SO dark and intense, and the Dystopian society in which they live (Gilead) is just scary. If you can stomach some really uncomfortable scenes (having to do with the likes of rape and capital punishment), then I suggest giving it a watch. I’m also just impressed by the acting – Ella Moss is amazing. Also a great time to be reminded of and celebrate our freedoms here in America, because HOLY SHIT you do not have that in The Handmaid’s Tale. Happy 4th indeed!

That’s that. Nice and easy. Hope everyone had a great 4th and see you in a few days when I’m done recovering from the beers, burgers, and BBQ’s.
